FLVAC 2007 Training Schedule

Wednesday, January 10 th , 2007 : ICS-100 (2 CEU's)This is the introductory level command structure program required for all emergency responders. It defines the individual's roles and responsibilities of the individual, identifies the various required functions of a response.
Start Time: 8pm Instructor: Less Stress

Saturday/Saturday, January 20 th & 27 th : ICS-200 (12 CEU's). ICS 200 is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS-200 provides training on and resources for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS. ICS-100 is a pre-requisite. Start Time: 9am-4pm Instructor: Mark Ward (Bergen County EMS Training Center)

Wednesday, February 7 th , 2007 : NIMS (2.5 CEU's)This is the introductory program for National Incident Management System (NIMS) required for all emergency responders. Provides insight into the federal system for structuring incident response and introduces the responder to his/her roles in that system. Start Time: 8pm Instructor: Less Stress

Wednesday, March 7 th , 2007 : CBRNE (4 CEU's)This program introduces the student to the definition of CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) events. It also describes some common mechanisms used in the past (or theorized to be possible future attacks) as CBRNE attacks. Start Time: 8pm Instructor: Less Stress

Wednesday, April 4 th , 2007: HAZMAT Awareness (4 CEU's) This program introduces the student to Hazardous Materials and provides simple recommendations for dealing with potentially dangerous substances at the awareness level. OSHA currently requires this program for emergency responders. Start Time: 8am Instructor: Less Stress

Saturday/Sunday/Saturday, April 21 st , 22 nd , and 28 th : ICS-300 (24 CEU's) This course provides training on an resources for personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The target audience for this course is for individuals who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 incidents. These incident may extend into multiple operational periods. This course expands upon information covered in ICS-100 and ICS-200 Courses. This course will include but not be limited to: unified command , incident/event assessment and objective development, the ICS planning process, incident /event resource mgmt, transfer of command and demobilization. ICS-100 and ICS-200 are pre-requisites. Start Time: 9am-5pm Instructor: Mark Ward ( Bergen County EMS Training Center )

Wednesday, May 2 nd , 2007 : Pharmacology Review (2 CEU's) This program discusses pharmacology in general, and elaborates on both EMS-carried medications, patient assistance drugs, and commonly encountered drugs that patients are on. Start Time: 8pm Instructor: Less Stress

Wednesday, May 30th , 2007 : Abuse Awareness in EMS (3 CEU's) This program discusses social abuse situations such as Spousal Abuse, Child Abuse, and Elder Abuse. Ethical scenarios and proper reporting procedure are discussed. Start Time: 8pm Instructor: Less Stress

Wednesday, December 12 th , 2007: Bloodbourne Pathogens This basic compliance program satisfies 29 CFR 1910.1030 and 29 CFR 1910.1200. It is a discussion of fluidborne disease and how to avoid it, as well as Hazard Communication and Respiratory Protection / TB awareness.
